Tide Chart Now is designed to collect as little information as practical.

Server logs
The hosting service may record standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, time, and diagnostic errors. These logs are used for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
Browser storage and location
Display preferences may be saved in first-party cookies, and locations you choose to save are kept in your browser's local storage. When you use the nearest-location feature, your browser provides coordinates only for the on-device comparison; Tide Chart Now does not send those coordinates to its server or analytics service.
Analytics and service monitoring
Tide Chart Now uses Plausible to understand aggregate page usage. We do not send display preferences, saved locations, or browser geolocation through custom analytics events.
Limited diagnostic information may be sent to service-monitoring providers when the application fails or a scheduled data update needs attention. This monitoring is used for reliability, not behavioral profiling, and is configured not to include default personally identifiable information.
Advertising and cookies
If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, or process IP addresses and other browser or device identifiers to deliver and measure personalized or non-personalized ads, prevent fraud, and limit how often an ad appears. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Where required, Tide Chart Now will use a Google-certified consent management platform to present advertising choices before eligible ads are served. You can also manage Google advertising personalization in My Ad Center and control or delete cookies through your browser settings.
